Ordering Your Repeat Prescription

When your repeat prescription is due you can use the request form attached to your previous prescription, ticking only the required items. This can be left at Reception, in the request box in the hall, sent by post, emailed (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.), faxed (01625 859748) or requested via EMIS ACCESS (ask Reception for details).

The prescription will be ready for collection after 2.00pm, 72 hours from making your request. You will periodically be asked to see the Doctor or the Nurse to review your medication to ensure that it is still appropriate.

The local chemists offer a service whereby they can pick up your prescription from the Practice so that you can collect it directly from them. To organise this, please speak with your Pharmacist. Alternatively you can now register for Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) and your prescription will be sent electronically to the Pharmacy of your choice, near to where you live, work or shop. For more information click here for the patient leaflet, or to use this service please contact Reception to nominate your Pharmacy.

Please note that we do not take prescription requests over the telephone. We will only give a prescription to a representative of a patient where we are satisfied that the patient has given his or her consent.

If you have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a Pre-Payment Certificate. Information on help with health costs, exemption certificates for those entitled and Prescription Pre-Payment Certificates can be found at http://www.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/1127.aspx or alternatively telephone advice is available on 0845 850 0030.
