NHS Eastern Cheshire CCG DRAFT Policy to reduce consultations and prescriptions for minor conditions suitable for self-care

A survey on whether the local NHS should stop funding the prescription costs of medicines that are readily available over-the-counter for minor conditions like coughs, colds and headaches, has gone live.

The policy proposed by NHS Eastern Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) aims to reduce general practice consultations and prescriptions for minor conditions.

August Bank Holiday Opening Times

The Surgery will close at 7pm on Friday 26th August 2016 and will re-open on Tuesday 30th August at 8am.  If you require emergency care during this time please call NHS 111 where you will be triaged by an NHS representative and if required referred to the out of hours service for further care.  If you or someone else experiences severe chest pains, loss of blood or suspected broken bones you should attend the nearest Accident & Emergency department or call 999. 

Please make sure you have your prescription requests in before close on Tuesday 23rd August 2016 to allow the full 72 hours required to process your request.

Beat the heat: staying safe in hot weather

High temperatures can be harmful to your health.  In one hot spell in August 2003 in England and Wales there were over 2000 extra deaths than would normally be expected.  The heat can affect anyone but some people are at greater risk of harm.  The leaflet on the link below from Public Health England contains information on how to stay safe during the hot weather.
